Meet the Team

Hamish

I’m the boss here at Rangiora Mazda and I have a real passion for cars and the automotive industry. During my time as a technician I have had a wide and diverse range of experience in the motor trade, gaining my apprenticeship with Toyota then moving to Blackwell Motors with franchises such as Holden, Opel, Nissan, Suzuki, Isuzu and Mazda.

I also gained a great deal of knowledge and expertise working in England for two years in the motor sport industry. This included pre-event preparation, event work and new car build and assembly to World Championship level. Upon return to NZ I decided the best way to make the most of my experiences was to operate my own business. So here we are.

I believe we have one of the best teams and working environments in the area with up to date service facilities including latest diagnostic equipment and comprehensive automotive parts department.

I always wish to acknowledge the continual hard work and support put in by all our staff for the successful day to day running of the business.

Terry

I have been in the parts game for 39 years and have worked as Parts Manager covering franchises for Mazda, Holden, Isuzu, Nissan, Vauxhall, Bedford, VW, Suzuki, International Harvester and Iseki. At Rangiora Mazda I now specialize in Mazda, Holden and Isuzu.

I have been a Rangiora resident for over 36 years. My interests include music and amateur theatre.

If you are having trouble finding the correct part, come in and see me or give me a call, because being in the game as long as I have I am sure I can help.

Justin

I was born and raised in South Africa and lived in a small town on the east coast called Richards Bay, it's about 200km from Durban.

I started my apprenticeship in January of 2000 and qualified in September of 2004.

Since working for Rangiora Mazda I can safely say it is by far the best company I have worked for, the in-house training is really good and coming from dealership experience to the environment that is Rangiora Mazda has been a big change for me and with the help of the guys including Hamish I feel more and more confident every day.

In my spare time I play a lot of cricket both indoor and outdoor and I enjoy a game of golf every weekend. I enjoy watching rugby and am a huge supporter of the Wellington Hurricanes and Lions. I am 28 years of age and may sound funny when I talk to you on the phone, it's just my South African accent, nothing to worry about.

I look forward to meeting you and attending to your vehicle!

Sam Moodie

I have been in the automotive industry for seven years specializing in auto electrical starting the Palmerston North where I completed my apprenticeship, then moved to Wanaka for four years.

I currently live with my partner Sarah in Christchurch. In my spare time I enjoy jet boating, spending time with my partner and our beloved dog Lady.

I have always had a fond interest in rotary engines and the Mazda Brand. It is a pleasure to work in a good team environment, working with specialised equipment.

Stuart Forrester

Hi, my name is Stuart and I was born and raised in North Canterbury.  I may have only been with Rangiora Mazda a short time, (Nov 2008) but for the last fourteen years I have been working at a Holden Franchise.

On completion of my apprenticeship at Arthur Burkes in Amberley I worked in many locations from the wheat belt and gold fields in Western Australia to the frozen Antarctic all the while repairing, maintaining, and rebuilding all manner of vehicles and machines.  Gaining more experience and picking up new skills at the same time getting the travel bug out of my system.

I meet my wife Mandy and finally settled down in Leithfield and started a family.

Working with Hamish has been a real plus in my life. At last a boss who has had the foresight to keep pace with the changes in the car industry, not only with Mazda but with all makes and models.

In my spare time (if I get any) I love to watch my children playing sport, go hunting with my mates, and catch a movie with my Mandy.  I’m also a member of the McAlpines North Canterbury Pipe Band, and love to teach the bagpipes.

Ned

I come to Rangiora Mazda most days of the week. My role is varied but mainly involves customer relations and security. I enjoy coming to Rangiora Mazda, chatting with our varied client base and assisting when I can.

My spare time is spent with my family, but also try to find time looking for treasure and hunting cats.
