| Automatics
Most automatic transmissions fail due to overheating. This is usually
a direct result of a lack of maintenance. By servicing your cars
transmission at the specified intervals you will prolong the life
of your automatic transmission. This is especially true if you have
a four wheel drive and do a lot of towing. Another great way to
extend the life of your auto transmission is to fit an external
oil cooler. This will reduce the damaging effects of overheating
and significantly add life to the transmission. Did you know the
transmission should be serviced every 40,000km? Check your history.
No transmission service? This could lead to an expensive failure...

Components include the radiator, water pump, hoses and thermostat.
Keeping your cooling system in good shape helps prevent costly breakdowns

engine wear and is important for good economy and exhaust emissions.

| C V Joints
Constant Velocity joints are found on front wheel and some rear
wheel drive vehicles. CV joints allow power to be transmitted to
the wheels of your vehicle under all conditions whether you're turning,
going over bumps or in a straight line. CV joints need to be kept
full of grease to make them last the distance. The CV Boot keeps
your CV joints lubricated by holding the grease around the joint.
These boots are prone to perishing and wear and require periodic
replacement. Symptoms of a worn CV joint include a loud “clicking’
sound when turning and vibrations through the steering wheel

| Shocks
A vehicle with defective shock absorbers can take as much as 2.6
metres extra to stop in an emergency, perhaps the difference between
driving past an accident or being in one. Poor handling can put
you and your family seriously at risk of having an accident. Shock
absorbers are vital for positive steering and safe braking. They
smooth out bumps, jolts and give stability for comfortable cruising
at all speeds and the secure feeling of having all four wheels firmly
on the ground. Symptoms of worn shock absorbers: 1. When your vehicle
nosedives or dips forward badly when braking, 2. Your tyres may
have developed bald patches, oil seeps from your shock absorbers
and your vehicle feels unstable.

using state of the art diagnostic equipment. Components can fail
at any time causing poor fuel efficiency and increased emissions.
Testing is surprisingly easy, quick and inexpensive to find out
how well your engine is running. Vehicles passing this test can
be issued with a certificate of compliance that lasts for one year.
If your vehicle fails the test, we can advise of suggested changes
or repairs required, or you can take advantage of the specialist
equipment, systems knowledge and information we have available to
remedy any issues. |
